The four lists

ANZSCO 2013 and ANZSCO 2022 are both in use

The department runs two versions of the occupation dictionary at once. The 2022 version applies to the Employer Nomination Scheme (186) and the Skills in Demand (482) visa, including everything on the CSOL. The 2013 version applies to every other skilled subclass, including the MLTSSL, STSOL and ROL. For some occupations the code differs between the two, and a few occupations were split into separate specialisations - which means the code you used on a previous visa is not automatically the code you use now. Each occupation page below shows both.

What being on a list does and does not do

• It makes a visa possible. It does not make you eligible - you still need the skills assessment, the English, the points and, for most routes, a nomination or a sponsor.
• Caveats can exclude your specific position even when your occupation is listed: business turnover, staff numbers, the tasks in the role, sometimes the location.
• Lists change. An occupation being removed does not affect an application already lodged, but it does affect a new nomination.
• States and territories publish their own shorter lists for 190 and 491 nomination. Being on a federal list does not mean a state will nominate you.
